Cards!!!

When I was younger, I used to like doing everything about crafts, specially cards. I always used to make a lot of cards for everyone in their birthdays, christmas, mother's day, valentine's day.. any occasion.. I LOVED doing cards!!One day, one SAD day, I saw one of the cards I made in the trash can; it literally broke my heart. I decided not to make any card for anyone. Never. never. never.Yesterday, my american mom, Christy, gave me my birthday present, and part of it, was all these awesome crafting paper, all colors, all patterns. SOOO DANG COOL!!She told me that I would love doing scrapbooking, cards and crafts, and that I'm very creative :)SOOOO..I decided to make cards again!!! I almost feel like Horowitz, (russian pianist, for all those who don't know) when he didn't play for an audience for like 12 years and then he had his great debut in Carnegie Hall.haha..here are some few pictures of some of the cards I made today :) I still need to improve, but practice makes perfect!!! I'm way excited and I'm so grateful with Christy for inspiring me to make cards again!!!!!!

Dr. Holden's Concert @ Salt Lake's Cathedral of the Madeleine

Last sunday, Camille, Britny, and I went to Dr. Holden's Concert. Ryan picked us up, and we went to Salt Lake, to the Cathedral of the Madeleine (yes, there's a catholic cathedral in Salt Lake). It was pretty awesome!!! I think I passed out in our way to SLC haha I just couldn't help it!! Cars make me sleepy. Anyway.. We were talking of very interesting stuff. Like.. PIANOOO.. composers.. Ryan's piano lesson experience with a Liszt piece (HA HA HA), and Dr. Holden-classes-stories hahaha.
We got there, and the Cathedral was pretty cool.

Dr. Howard, gave an introduction/explanation/background of the works that were going to be performed. After Dr. Howard's intro, Dr. Holden came to stage, and he started the concert playing Chopin's Ballade No. 3 Op. 47. At the beginning I thought the acoustic was weird.. it had too much echo, but then.. I thought it was perfect for Chopin, specially for the 3rd ballade. Then, he played Chopin's nocturne in E-flat (I think it was no. 16 op. 55??? I'm pretty sure it was in E flat..) Oh gosshhhh MARVELOUS!!! THEN, he played Chopin's Scherzo No. 2 Op. 31. I loooove that scherzo. He played soooo soooo soooo good!!! Dr. Holden has this awesome tone. It's too hard to describe sound with words. His musicality is overflows all the time. Perfectly shaped motives and phrases, wide range of dynamics.. It was Magnificent.

Then, professor Reich sang sacred songs by Barber. Very charming.

After her, Mormon Tabernacle Choir's organist performed a piece by Barber. It was cool, even though organ isn't my favorite instrument. Intermission.
During the intermission, I looked for better seats, because we were kind of in the back, we couldn't see very well, AAAAND, I got seats in the FIRST ROW. So, we moved and now we were ready for the second part of the program. Chamber musiikkkkkk!!!!!!!!!! yay!!! The quartet was composed by BYU School of Music Faculty, Monte (violin), Bigelow (viola), Julie Bevan (cello) and Dr. Holden (piano). They performed Schumann's Quartet. Songful. Beautiful. Passionate. I was amazed by the outstanding performance. They played an encore, "happy birthday" in a Very very romantic way and it was just perfect to end Chopin's and Schumann's Birthday Celebration.

I had a blast!!! I love Britny and Camille!!! they're just sooo dang cool.

I came up with a name for the three of us. We are the... OP. 39 GALS!!! BECAUSE.. The three of us are playing Rachmaninov etudes-tableaux op. 39!!! yeah.. roll your eyes if you want. You probably don't know what a Rachmaninov etude-tableaux means for a piano major.. so I forgive your ignorance. haha.. JK. well.. I'm actually not.
